Recording with Reborn

4 min read

This blog has been almost entirely technical. Agent architecture, benchmarks, power flows, AI memory. At some point I realized something was missing — I decided that at least a third of the content should be more about me, not just about the project.

This post is the first of that part.

The signal

I met JC and Ignacio at an energy event. I hadn't gone there planning to talk to anyone about personal branding, but something in the conversation made me stop.

I'd tried to work on my personal brand before — with other people, in other formats — and it hadn't worked. Not because of them, but because I wasn't ready or it wasn't the right time.

With JC and Ignacio it felt different. It was one of those signals you learn to listen to over time: when the conversation flows, when they get the context without you having to explain everything, when you realize the person across from you is thinking about you and not about their pitch.

Reborn is their company. They help people like me build a real personal brand — not the inflated version you'd expect from a marketing agency, but something that actually looks like what you do.

The day of the recording

The recording was last Wednesday.

Benjamín came along. We've known each other for years — he worked with me at my first startup and later was co-founder of another one I set up. Now he's building his own: grupocolibri.cl, which is basically what Don Nelson is doing for electrical engineers, but applied to real estate.

What I take away

I find it hard to be on camera. It's something I'm definitely going to improve, because in the era we live in it feels key — writing isn't enough. You also need to know how to come across in front of a camera. Ideas, thoughts, the influence you want to have — it doesn't play out only in text.

I've always believed that doing things that hurt is what makes me get better. JC and Ignacio made sure it hurt. We'll see how it turns out.

If you're working on your own personal brand and you find yourself at that point of not knowing where to start, I recommend looking at Reborn. I arrived with doubts and left with more clarity.
